Today is Nelson Mandela’s 95th Birthday (July 18, 1918). Reports of his health in recent months have made us reflect on the tremendous significance of his life for the cause of human rights.

I remember when I was in high school, when the Apartheid boycotts were in the public eye. Artists would use their platform to enlighten us on the plight of the South African people.

But in light of being imprisoned for 28 years for what he believed, Mandela leaves with us so many gems to reflect. It was hard, but here are 5 good ones.

The quote about fear really hits home for me, but I am also partial to the quote that the other two ladies mentioned.

I am joining the bandwagon on the "it always seems like it's impossible until it's done." I hae lied my life believing that idea!

These quotes are great. I love "It always seems like it's impossible until it is done." We never know just how string we are until we are put to the test.

Ahh thanks so much Tazim. Considering Nelson Mandela's story, if we can see that he was afraid yet overcame his fears, then we all can. Thanks for stopping by.

Yes, he definitely has some gems, but this one really resonated with me. We definitely don't know our own strength until we have to use it. Thanks for stopping by.
